Welcome to Cloud9 Longarm Quilting. So happy you stopped by.
My name is Janie. I’m married to a wonderfully supportive husband, Rolan. We have 5 children and 18 grandchildren, ranging in age from 18 months to 24 years. We reside in beautiful Northern California, not far from Mount Shasta.
I am a fourth-generation quilter. I was introduced to quilting when I was 8 years old by my great grandmother and great-great aunt. I did some quilting in High School but was more interested in being out at the barn. I took up quilting seriously 9 years ago, and it did not take long before I knew I wanted to do longarm quilting. However, getting my husband to agree took some time. I love making quilts, but I love doing the quilting on them even more. I get beginner quilts and ones by master quilt makers and everything in between. I love every quilt that comes into my studio. I appreciate not only the work involved but the workmanship and mostly the LOVE put into each one.
This year I joined Quilts of Valor Foundation as a longarm quilter. These are by far my favorite ones. I am from a military family, my two grandfathers, great aunt, dad, husband, all three of my brothers and several nephews have served our country. I recognize the commitment and sacrifice our Veterans make and feel they deserve to be recognized. This is my heart. I count it an honor and privilege to quilt for them.
My goal in quilting is for your quilt to be the “Star of the Show”. There are times the quilting will show up quite prominently, especially in high contrast quilts. Clients may choose a design or leave it to me to find one to compliment their work. I have thousands of designs available. If you are mailing your quilt top and backing to me, I’ll study your quilt, sometimes for a few days then make some recommendations for a design based on the quilt design and fabrics used. You can select the one you like best or send me back to the drawing board for more options.
